A venerable, ultra-traditional winery in a region famous for blood-and-thunder red wines turns its hand to an ultra-modern style of smashable, drink-now red. Bravo!
Light-medium purple-red colour; the bouquet quite detailed with a range of seed spice aromas together with dusty raspberry and strawberry notes, a whiff of clean leather, the palate opening with an impression of sweetness before the grapy flavours turn to softly drying tannins at the clean and more-ish finish.
A very smart early-drinking red, just right for warmer weather. (Screwcap)
